Does anyone know whether the summit house (old or new) will be open this winter whenever the road is open?
i plan to hike it over Christmas. Sounds awesome to warm up and get a water refill at the top!

New summit house might be opening in May 2021? That's when the cog train is scheduled to have completed their renovations, and rumor was that both would open around the same time. The old summit house should remain open over the winter. However, it closes frequently due to weather during the winter. Best to plan a hike when there's a break in the weather for a few days. Also, call the Pikes Peak Highway for any updates (719.385.7325). I've generally had good luck contacting the highway Rangers, or having them call me back when I've left a VM.

Looks like they have some new web cams showing conditions on the summit.

I am not sure when they opened, but they are open now. I took visiting family to the top via the cog railway last weekend. There is still a bit of construction, but the gift store, cafeteria, and bathrooms are open.
Century Bound, eventually.

Coffee and donuts are back for one's Pike summit celebration?!

Still a long way back down afterwards...

They changed the donuts and they are terrible. I mean more terrible than before.
