Congrats Calvin. Welcome to the Colorado legendary kids club. There are so many amazing ones in this state: Scott's kids, Matt Moniz inter alia. It sure helps to have an amazing dad. If my son's dad weren't so slow and fat, perhaps his resume would have been more impressive! Anyway, it must have been a challenge getting the Rainier Nazi's to allow him on the trail at the age of 8. And Sunlight Spire... um wow =D>

Wow, simply amazing! Congrats calvin! You are much tougher than the six year old I saw with his family on a 14er, lets just say he wasn't enjoying the mtns that day
You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.

Calvin,

I can tell from the picture of you climbing on Capitol that you pull your own weight too (real backpack on your back). Very impressive.

Completing the 14'ers at age 8 is awesome. Completing them twice now, at age 10, is truly remarkable. I've only met Calvin briefly, but he is a great kid who somehow doesn't have a big ego. And the rest of us can keep our ego in check as we struggle to complete the list just once.
