Mount Morrison

Post by Ish »

Hey everyone,

Last weekend I had a few hours to kill and I ventured up to Red Rocks to climb the "Mountaineers Route" on Mt. Morrison. The route was way fun and provides a great opportunity for people who want to test their skills on short unsustained 4th and low 5th class terrian before heading up to more committing routes on higher summits. I did the entire route in about 4 hours. All of the rock is solid and it is quite easy to solo. Bailing from more technical terrain is also very easy if you don't feel comfortable with what you are getting yourself into. In fact, you actually have to go out of your way to access the technical terrain. If anyone is interested in this I would be happy to give some beta...unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me so I don't have an visuals. There is also a page about this route on mountainproject.com. All and all a great conditioning/after-work climb.
