"I read the science and masks outside are absurd." sounds like the most reasonable choice (and maybe it is, given the options).
Just that "the science" doesn't make that statement about masks outside.

Well, i guess the prediction that up to 200,000 people may die of COVID in the US was indeed inaccurate.
Down from 2.2 Million, originally.
- A mountain is not a checkbox to be ticked
- Alpinism and mountaineering are not restricted to 14,000 foot mountains
- Judgment and experience are the two most important pieces of gear you own
- Being honest to yourself and others about your abilities is a characteristic of experienced climbers
- Courage cannot be bought at REI or carried with you in your rucksack

Yes, without measures taken. With measures taken we are now at 0.5-1 Million.
And yes, i do blame anti-masking propagandists for >100K of those. Discuss.
