Snowmass...has anyone climbed it recently

Post by davidnr »

I've always heard Snowmass was easier to climb with snow. I was planning on hiking in Tuesday and climbing Wednesday or Thursday..but I'm not seeing much on sucessful summits of Snowmass in the last month. I am curious if anyone has reached the top in the last week or so and what equipment they used. Crampons...snow shoes...mircro spikes...ice axe. Also how was the climb...and what were the conditions faced. The last conditions report from July 4th indicates that 2 parties turned around. One at 13,800. The other at 11,700.

Any info would be helpful.

Thanks,

David
