Cool, congrats guys!!

Mario...get your head out of Uranus. You've ascended so far that you've left the planet and you're obviously hypoxic or something. I think most of us here realize what they did isn't easy....and that it takes a lot of drive (and a will to suffer) to achieve summits above 14k.

I recently hooked up my SNES and have been playing a lot of Super Mario Bros. It's been great.

Yes, that was a super douche comment, and clearly you aren't the only one who didn't like it.

A lot of people say what they did can't be done, I'm just impressed and excited, that's all.
You can touch the void, just don't fall into it.

I fly a starship across the universe divide....and when I reach the other side...I'll find a place to rest my spirit if I can. Perhaps I may become a Mountain Man again.

A lot of people in the early 20th century thought humans couldn't climb above 8000m without supplemental oxygen.

Super Congratulations to Ryan, Jeff and the others. This was a major feat to pull off....not only a 8000m peak, not only without oxygen, but wasn't it some stupid approach of like 80 miles?

So glad to hear you guys were successful. Been waiting to hear and praying for both safety and success. Sounds like the prayer was answered.

True, but this was disproven in 1922, or earlier if you count balloon ascents. Nowdays, most unguided climbers don't use bottled O on GII (Relatively few climb without porters or fixed camps though).

The approach certainly is not stupid. It is almost certainly the most spectacular and inspiring approach in the world with awesome views of the Trango Towers, K2, GIV, etc. ;)

I am sure than when the climbers return home they will awesome us all with their spectacular photos (and stories of there success!).
