Poll: If I were an Outlaw

Post by d_baker »

Choose your path wisely.....
....this from a former recovered (I think?) outlaw. I may or may not have been successful at it.

Why doesn't the forum for Mountaineering Tales have the poll option?! This of course, is part "tale" and part mountaineering serious discussion.

Shouldn't the question be phrased; "Since I am an Outlaw"?

I mean seriously, who of us is not?

Summitted Bross? Guilty
Drove without a seatbelt? Guilty
Parked somewhere you shouldn't? Guilty
Sold something on EBay and not reported it as income? Guilty
Smoked pot back in the day? Guilty
Crossed the street against the light? (yes, in Seattle I was actually stopped and threatened to be put in jail, "A Bookable Offense", according to officer dick.) Guilty
Gone into a shop without a mask, even without a vaccine???? GUILTY

So what are you getting at?

I thought this was going to be a Mt. Bross discussion. Maybe it is.

I chose keep it in the family. My wife is a criminal defense attorney, so I get to share my misdeeds while having spousal AND attorney-client privilege. Too bad I have nothing exciting to share with her except for speeding, I'm the antithesis of an outlaw.

I can speak from experience that taking photos "in the act" and posting them on the internet can bite you, even if the offense is very hidden. Months later I ended up with rangers at my front door that wanted to talk about an Instagram post and serve me a court summons. Now, I'm more of a "keep it in the family" kind of guy.

What's the statute of limitations on camping next to a "restoration area" sign?
