33 years old and still accurate. The entire album is a masterpiece.

Now over at the temple
Oh! They really pack 'em in
The in crowd say it's cool
To dig this chanting thing
But as the wind changed direction
And the temple band took five
The crowd caught a whiff
Of that crazy Casbah jive

Certainly semesters worth of man-hours could be spent explicating lyrics with this kind of timeless genius.

Easily two semesters. Probably more.

All the power's in the hands
Of people rich enough to buy it
While we walk the street
Too chicken to even try it
Everybody's doing
Just what they're told to
Nobody wants
To go to jail!

then you're spending time on the wrong stations / sites. i'm heavily involved in college radio, and i can assure you there is tons of good stuff out there. bandcamp is a great place to start, because not only is there a ridiculous amount of music there, but the money you spend on the site goes directly to the artist.

12ersRule doesn't listen to enough David Bowie.

Somebody needs to do something about that. Four live albums recorded in less than three years spanning the peak of his live performance career. Live in Santa Monica, CA 1972 this from the Bowie and The Spiders From Mars inaugural tour of the United States:

Ziggy Stardust the Motion Picture, recorded in London 1973:

David Live, recorded in Philadelphia, PA 1974. After breaking up the Spiders, this was the new band on the Diamond Dogs tour:

Cracked Actor, Live in Los Angeles 1974. After breaking up the Diamond Dogs band mid-tour and starting the writing and recording of songs for the 1975 Young Americans album, resuming the tour with a new band and a new set:

"I try my best to be just like I am, but everybody wants you to be just like them" - Bob Dylan
