Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

Condolences and prayers for comfort and strength for Jake's family and friends. May he rest in peace forever, and may his memory always be a blessing.

Re: Capitol peak fall
Apparently the accident happened between the Mount Daly saddle and K2 along the alternate route that follows the ridge.
I had a similar experience when my friend fell near K2 in September 2014, fortunately he was spared and eventually healed after a long recovery. I don't think any of us that were involved with that situation that September ever healed fully, mentally, and reading about it this morning sent shivers through me. I hope Peter will heal eventually and find peace, and if he reads this, my door is always open to him. I am so sorry for your loss, and the loss of the Lord family. RIP Jake.

Re: Capitol peak fall
Sad to read this! Is this the route that follows the ridge proper after gaining Daly? Very unfortunate.
Re: Capitol peak fall
Yeah, my stomach dropped the second I saw the headline. Thoughts are with his family and friends, especially the friend who was climbing with him.mtn_nut wrote:Apparently the accident happened between the Mount Daly saddle and K2 along the alternate route that follows the ridge.
