RMNP wedding photo venue

Post by DeTour »

Hi all, hoping I can get away with this because this site is great for all things re: CO mountains .... Dear daughter (and 14ers.com member) Maryjane is getting married in Estes Park in August and is looking for an accessible spot with a great backdrop for wedding photos. The goal is to find dramatic terrain relatively close to a road near Estes. Ideally it would have some rocks immediately accessible to the party in wedding attire, with something special behind.

Beautiful as they are in person, some distant views like Longs from Trail Ridge Road turnoffs probably would not translate that well to wedding photos. I know Twin Owls are dramatic and easily seen from Estes, does anyone know a spot with a view of them with some foreground rocks for positioning the wedding party? Or possibly other views of Lumpy Ridge/The Needles. Oh, and ideally south or southwest facing for lighting. Not asking for much :-D .

Lily Lake and Sprague Lake have easily accessible trails. Lily Mountain has some crags nearby. Sprague Lake would give views of the divide.
