no pack waistbelt, and a wooden hiking pole. Photo was clearly taken in the 1920s but yet is in color!

That hiker is an illegal if he was born in New Mexico. We don't like people from that country in the United States. 'merica should only be for people born in 'merica.

Aside : Possibly my best summit day ever on Mt Baker ... I wish it were just outside of Pittsburgh, it would be a half day drive for me ...

Wow, you guys are strict.

I saw a guy walking up a mountain . My untrained eye didn't see incorrect snow formations, mountain shapes, gear violations etc. And I certainly wasnt keen enough to see political-racial overtones.

I suspect this a gag. The Beatles used to use babble or use nonsense phrases in their songs and then sit back and watch people argue as to their secret meanings. Dudes would come up to them and tell them they were hip to the song's underlying purpose.

The only thing I see wrong is the position of the sun.

The key word being "untrained eye". To anyone who has been on the south side of Mount Rainier, the "mountain shape" is a spitting image of Mt Rainier view from the south (Paradise, etc...), which of course is not in New Mexico. This misplacement happens all over the place. It is not a gag, it is just lazy, and marketed to the untrained eye, which is the masses. Too much familiarity can be a bad thing. I did not notice the discrepancy with the deer hunter until I tried to look up which Washington State industrial town it was supposed to take place in (after recognizing Shuksan & Baker in some scenes), Tacoma maybe, and saw it was Pennsylvania. I also have to block out of my head the setting of The Edge with Anthony Hopkins et al, which is supposed to take place in Alaska. I see may familiar sites I saw on my trips to the Banff/Lake Louise area in that movie. And of course all the Rhododendron I see in Last of the Mohicans movie, which I never see around Lake George & the Adirondacks (that was ofcourse filmed in North Carolina).

Yes, but's a mountain that is a long way from New Mexico.

I just thought it was amusing; that's all.

Ya'll's just pissed you don't have a hi-falootin' camera that can zoom in on an ultra (just ask Spiderman) background like Rainier. Of course it's the "south" side, that's what you'll see from New Mexico, hell, even Utah, Montana, Oregon or COLORADO for that matter. Ya'll are noobs compared to what this bad@$$ did, and all in one push, same clothes and all! Proof:

The only thing these Lantern Press "Hiking Scene" prints (and chefs aprons, pillow cases, wall clocks, tins, tote bags, bed sheets, woven blankets, kitchen towels, serving trays ...) need are some decent reviews.

Tall grass,

I just think this lends credence to my plate tectonic explanation. It's a mobile mountain.
