Finished this piece recently. Iowa has a few well-known covered bridges, but this seems more like something you'd find in New England.

Anybody else working on anything they'd like to share? :-D

Very impressed by the stuff on this thread, there's some serious talent here! As for me - first attempt at a plein air. With all my thanks to Ms. Paint-The-Mountain-Martin for encouraging me to pick up a brush and Just Do It :-D

The guy I student taught with (who is also my artist mentor and good friend) recently did a painting of one of my favorite photographs of Mt. of the Holy Cross with the Milky Way. He decided to paint it in a "Van Gogh" impressionist style. I was honored to see a fellow artist inspired by my own work. He gave us the painting and we have it hanging in our living room.

Fabulous photo, Aaron! And excellent interpretations of one of my favorite mountains!

I've always admired how an artist can put together something so quickly, and especially under difficult conditions such as wind or cold temperatures like you frequently get on a summit. Very impressive, Rhodo!

Thanks to you both for sharing! :-D

Aaron, that's FABULOUS! And as much as I enjoyed your Maroon Bells, I think this is my favorite! I LOVE your soft, blending colors and the way you incorporate the early eastern light! WOW! Thanks so much for sharing! :-D

Have never actually ventured into the Irons themselves, but drive by them a few times each year.

My girlfriend created this in her hallway after seeing me poking around on https://www.peakfinder.org.

Very nice, nikolai! Interesting hallway addition.

So did she create the wood and metal birds herself, and just use tape to outline the mountains?

It's always fascinating to see what others use to be creative; just your everyday materials used in different ways of expressing beauty.

Thanks for adding her contribution!

Just finished this; another commemorative piece and one of my favorite mountains. Gotta get back there again sometime!

Oil on canvas painting my grandmother made for me after I completed the 14ers. She was in hear early 70's when she painted the picture!

I asked my grandmother to use my favorite peak, Capitol, but base the foreground on a photo of the Animas River I took when hiking into Chicago Basin from Purgatory.
