Stumbled upon this... A guy climbs 2200 ft of vert to summit a mountain in 3.5 minutes using a "jet suit." Could there could be real world SAR applications for technology like this? Probably. If jet suits became main stream could there be a lot of assholes flying to the top of Quandary? Definitely.

Aren't SAR missions done primarily using safe, controlled techniques, so as to not make the rescuer another victim that needs to be rescued? We see some harrowing helicopter rescues, but there's also been a fair amount of unfortunate crashes.
