Ordering from REI, Backcountry.com or STP

Postby BillMiddlebrook » Tue Dec 12, 2006 1:18 pm

If you plan on ordering gear from Backcountry.com, REI.com or Sierra Trading Post and would like to support 14ers.com, don't forget that 14ers.com has had an affiliate relationship with these sites for the past year. If you order gear, 14ers.com gets a small commission on the sale. I then apply all of these proceeds to the monthly costs of 14ers.com. All you have to do is click on one of these links when heading over to make an online purchase.

If you will be shopping at these sites this holiday season, you can help out 14ers.com!

Just click on the links above to reach one of the sites. If you make a purchase, the retailer contributes a small percentage to 14ers.com.

THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
Can you tell I'm trying to get the site in the black for the year??

I have just bought very expensive backpack directly from REI store. Is it possible to make them to contribute to 14ers now?

Thanks for asking, but the affiliate relationships work through the Internet sites, not the physical stores.

Does it still come back to the site if we link through the main links page? I hope so, I've been dropping some serious $ (for me) on STP and yesterday on Backcountry getting loaded up for Orizaba. Hope it helps!

Just a reminder that you can help 14ers.com if you're ordering Christmas stuff from these online retailers.
If you do, thanks!!!

One more BUMP of this thread since I'm sure there are plenty of last-minute shoppers out there buying gear from these sites.

YTD, 93% of the 2008 14ers.com site expenses have been covered by a combination of the 14ers.com store, donations and these affiliate links. I'm hoping these links will help gnaw at the remaining 7%.

I almost forgot to use the links when I placed an order on REI.com yesterday. Duh!

Dang it, I wish I had known about this when I placed a nice sized order at backcountry a few weeks ago.

Sorry Bill

Thanks for the reminder! I just placed an order a few hours ago over the phone. Now, I called them back and gave them the reference number for 14ers and they hooked us up.

Thought I'd bump this for all the post-holiday shoppers using their gift cards in the next few days...

There's definitely been an increase in funds from people ordering through these links. At the current rate, these affiliate links may contribute enough to cover 8 or 9% of the 2009 14ers.com site costs.

Excellent!

Thanks to everyone that takes the time to use these links to help out the site. I really appreciate it!

Will this work with steepandcheap.com (outdoor gear), tramdock.com (skiing gear), or bonktown.com (bike gear), which are all divisions of Backcountry?

I figured out the links and added them for all three.

Thanks!
