Postby WSN » Sun Mar 30, 2014 4:35 pm

1st 14er fatality this year?

PITKIN COUNTY – A 45-year-old man died from injuries he sustained from a ski accident March 23.

Paul Cohen from Cincinnati, Ohio sustained multiple injuries after crashing on Snowmass Mountain.

He died from those injuries Friday.

Ski area, not 14er.

Yeah, lousy reporting by 9News because they show a picture of Snowmass Mtn. The Aspen newspaper did better.

Confusing reporting all around. The peak shown in the 9 News article is labeled as Snowmass Mountain, when in fact it is Snowmass Peak. Of course, neither one has anything to do with the ski area where the accident took place. Adding to the confusion is the ski area that is mostly located on the lower flanks of Baldy Mountain.....and how many variations are there of that name across the state of Colorado and around the country?

Boy, the 9news website has really gone downhill... looks like some content farm add-bloated blog page.
