Not sure I saw a mention of Kenosha Pass. Thoughts?

I drove over Kenosha on 9/17, and there was virtually no fall color yet.

Not sure about thirteeners, but there is a county road (60?) on the east side of Kenosha that has some decent stands of aspens.

To tell the truth, the Front Range 13ers aren't really your best bet for fall foliage. You may see some nice foliage on the way to the trailhead, but not so much on the hike. Drive over Kenosha Pass, enjoy the aspens in Ben Tyler Gulch along the way, see some color at the top of the pass. Some folks hike the Colorado Trail south of the pass for fall color. Keep on driving on 285 to Como, drive up Boreas Pass (2WD accessible), view some aspens on the way, and hike 13ers Boreas Mountain and/or Bald Mountain. Not much foliage on the 13ers, but half the fun is getting there. Cruise down the other side of the pass to Breckenridge and find a reputable (or disreputable) drinking establishment. Sounds like a fun day to me!

A similar experience would be to drive Guanella Pass. There are some nice stands of aspens on both sides, but probably best on the Georgetown side. You can drive up to the Waldorf Mine (in a high-clearance vehicle) to access Mt. Wilcox, Argentine Peak, or Mt. Edwards. Or, you could continue up to the top of the pass, and hike Squaretop of Gray Wolf. Once again, all of the aspens would be on the way to the TH, not on the hike.

Here is a webcam that should be a good way to monitor things in the Crested Butte area. Pretty murky right now (9/22, AM), but usually a good view.

Thanks for the update! Going to be headed to Crested Butte but I'm debating about doing it next weekend (Sept 27-28) or the following weekend (Oct 5-6). Definitely behind this year for sure, so I'm thinking everything with be 100% turned in 2 weeks.

Peter303 is right on with his %'s. Did not drive Fremont or Leadville, however here is a pic from the Alma area up Buckskin Rd. Seems that anything below 9K feet will need at least another 10 days to show signs of any color.

Saw a little bit of color along 4 mile creek up to Sherman on Saturday 9/21. The %s are pretty accurate from what I saw. Looks like some nice red colors this year too.

I would come 27-28th, By Oct 5-6 they are usually done here and well past peak. The colors are coming out fast now and should be peak or near peak that weekend.

Here's a shot from the trail into Missouri Gulch...taken a few hundred feet below the cabin.
