Why, yes it does. Climbing at altitude causes headaches ... and my teeth are in my head.

I noticed this while flying on an airplane. Not yet on a 14er. The 6K plane change was enough sometimes to irritate a tooth.

I have witnessed SCUBA incidents when someone had a "squeeze" on their tooth at depth. Something to do with an air pocket in a cavity I think. Never experieced first-hand, but I've had a few squeezes in my ears and I can't even imagine what it must hurt like in a tooth.

I learned this the hard way. Had an emergency root cannal the day before getting on a flight. Was fine up till the flight, but things went bad fast. Also learned that flight attendants will only give you a few pain killers.

Dang! That is crazy. Never heard that one before. What I do know is that a plane with pressurize for 8000 ft. Learned this from my sister-n-law who is a pilot for a commercial airline. Technically even from sea level to 8000 you should not experience any major issues with altitude. I guess they mean death :) Another interesting fact I learned from reading was that the majority of people will not feel altitude when exercising until they get more than 2000ft above the altitude they live at. My wife swears she doesn't feel altitude until 13k, but she always gets a headache after that. I think she is in too good of shape and hikes too fast.
