My mom went that route too and got the family to pitch in on that idea. :)

Most of them didn't know what they got me and unfortunately/hopefully, I'll never even get to use it.

B-Dog, I also got an ACR ResQlink 406 for Christmas. I used the link below to help clueless family memebers understand what a PLB does...

An I-pad...so I can enjoy this site in my living room by the fire instead of my office.

Coffee bean roaster. Having a cup of Kenya AA that I roasted yesterday. Mmmm.

Also had a relaxing few days with family.

Ok, I'll bite, what good is a down skirt (what with the whole 'skirt' bit)? (Quite jealous of the rest of the gifts, though)

Santa brought me six mountain books this Christmas:

THE DELECTABLE MOUNTAINS, by Douglas Busk.

FALLEN GIANTS: A HISTORY OF HIMALAYAN MOUNTAINEERING FROM THE AGE OF EMPIRE TO THE AGE OF EXTREMES, by Maurice Isserman.

NO WAY DOWN: LIFE AND DEATH ON K2, by Graham Bowley.

ON THE RIDGE BETWEEN LIFE AND DEATH: A CLIMBING LIFE RE-EXAMINED, by Dave Roberts.

SCANDINAVIAN MOUNTAINS, by Peter Lennon.

AN EYE AT THE TOP OF THE WORLD: THE TERRIFYING LEGACY OF THE COLD WAR'S MOST DARING CIA OPERATION, by Pete Takeda.

Thanks to a speeding, out-of-control snowboarder at Snowmass on 12/25/12 in a "SLOW" zone:
Multiple fractures of my clavicle (collar bone)
6 broken and displaced ribs
Three visits to the ER
A supplemental oxygen machine, so I could breath while sleeping at altitude.
Last-minute flight out of Aspen Airport to my local hospital.
....and a totally destroyed Christmas vacation with my family.

Please PM me if you know a lawyer who has successfully helped in such situations.
