Thanks cheeseburglar whoever you are.
Knee surgery (replacement) last summer slowed me down. But I climbed good old East Thorn today (my 4th time) with a 71-yr-old friend. He was fit and liked class 3 so it was fine. The 3rd class near the summit area was harder than I remembered. Getting old (63). There are two pinnacles right there and I was not sure which was higher. We settled for the northernmost as it looked difficult to get from there to the southernmost one. There was one rap sling on the north side of the northern pillar. [[We had no ropes]].

So it appears that today we were a few feet short of the summit as we did not do that final 4th class arete....
