I have the same problem only it is the hair on my palms that prevent me from leaving prints. My ophthalmologist thinks this may be related to my recent vision problems but I'll find out more when I see him on Monday.

Make sure your gloves are not too tight. I had a pair of Outdoor Research Talons that were a size too small and if the temp dipped below 35 degrees my hands froze. I was wearing them under a pair of mitts and my fingers were like wood. Mid-hike I ditched them and went with just the mitts and my hands thawed almost instantly.

Yeah, I just hate those hairy palms :lol:
