Hey Caleb: I get out about once a week in the winter for about 4 mons each season, soooo....I probably have 20-30 outings on my current VBL's? Give or take, some seasons I'm busier than others. I just went down in the basement and pulled my VBL's out and turned them inside out. No noticeable wear & tear, no spots where the coating has rubbed through, and the seam tape looks to be in good repair. Good for at least another season if not several more.

One thing that I recalled is that once I slip on the VBL, the next layer in my winter clothing system is my long john tights which have stirrups, ie they go down into my boot and cover all of my ankle and thus a lot of the VBL. Much better seal and warmth than a standard long john set-up. I mention that because maybe that extra coverage impedes some of the wear on the VBL as well. But the bottom line is that I've not seen any unusual or unacceptable wear with the Integral Designs VBL's. Maybe they got their act together and now offer a better product?

Thanks Tom. Good info. I would say you have "thoroughly tested" them. I'll have to give them another look.
