Talus Monkey Memorial Fund

Post by OBX Fisherman »

Sorry for the delay in setting up a memorial fund. We have several choices you may donate to in honor of the Talus Monkey:

If you want to donate in memory of David and the family and his cats, Troubles, Tigger and Annie please send your donation via PayPal to talusmonkey@obxfisherman.com.

You may also donate in honor of David to the Custer County Search and Rescue.

You can also donate to the 14ers Web Site in honor of David.

David was a involved with 2 animal shelters and made Christmas donations to them in honor of family and friends.

When he lived on the Outer Banks of North Carolina David was involved with:
Feline Hope
PO Box 893
Kitty Hawk, NC 27949

The other Humane Society you may donate to is
Western Hills Humane Society
324 Industrial Dr.
Spearfish SD 57783

Thanks

Thanks OBX!

Bill will get something in the mail by the ending of the week in David's name. I'm hoping the Monday morning line at the Philadelphia main post office will be short since most are there to pickup the penny stamps.

Funny how u should mention the cats, I rescued a kitten in my Grandma's backyard when it was abandoned by its mother. Apparently, my cousin touched it and her perfume got on it. So I took care of it b4 a neighbor adopted it.

Cowboy hat off to the kewl Monkey! *scratching* Good 'ole David!

I posted the following on another thread but thought maybe it should be here also:

I thought hard about the various choices in making a donation in David's name and finally decided on donating to 14ers.com because I realized that due to Bill's efforts not only have I gained valuable hiking information but more importantly I have gained an extended family.

We need to keep this one near the top of the list.

Bill, Could we get a sticky to put this at the top or near the top of the front page for a week or two?

Agreed, this needs to go back to the top of the list.

Talus Monkey Memorial

Post by Beagle »

I have been long overdue in donating to this very useful and well managed site a site that is more like a community as ColoMtnHike correctly points out. Great quote by the way ColoMtnHiker. David's passing is a reminder to us all that "the mountains don't care." We can best honor his memory by hiking and exploring with the same joie de vivre that he exhibited and with a renewed respect for these great peaks. My donation in David's memory is on its way.
Indeed, God speed Talus Monkey.
