Sneffels Conditions

I'm looking at doing Mt. Sneffels on Monday and realize that there's a storm coming in this weekend, but I'm curious as to what the current conditions are looking like right now for the trailhead and route if anyone knows. Thanks!

We did Sneffels from Yankee Boy Basin on Oct. 20th. Trailhead conditions were not good then. I had to fight just to get to the 2WD TH in an Xterra, and anything past that at the time was only passable by snowmobile or an ATV. It was postholing conditions almost to the summit. I can imagine with this recent storm if you could get a vehicle to the 2WD TH I would be pretty darn impressed. Prepare to put some extra miles on your route by parking lower and make sure to either have snowshoes or skis with skins.

When we went in September the morning after a storm, we were unable to go past the 853 1B junction, as this is where the road begins to incline more meaningfully. There is plenty of room to park here (this is where the road splits). Per our gps, it was .6-.7 miles below the lower TH. Here's our trip report that includes the .gpx.
