Here is my summitpost trip report of my trek to Kilimanjaro via the Rongai route. I know a few of you on here are planning trips, so hopefully there's some useful info in this report.

Kevin, thanks a lot for posting this! My wife and I just booked a trip with Zara on the Rongai route for this September. Glad to hear things went well.

I think we're flying to Newark on Continental, then KLM to Amsterdam and on to Kili airport. We also decided against the Nairobi option because of the bus ride, but also because we heard it was a little sketchier. Not worth a few hundred dollars, especially when you're spending 8 Gs.

I'm going to forward your link to my work so that I have some good reading material ... while I sip coffee in the morning. Our journey will be more or less snow-free, but it'll be nice to read about what we're up against.

Again, thanks so much for posting.

Cheers,
Aubrey
