And I thought my dog could climb

Post by IHikeLikeAGirl »

How do these dogs figure this out?

Like the beagle escape video that was posted previously too:

Wow! I'm glad our beagles aren't that smart!

This would be cool if it were legit.

Note that around 00:30 in the vid, the dog's right front paw is doing a chimney move against... air! I know nothing about photoshop for video, but 'nuff 'bout climbing.

Unfortunately, this video is a fake.

That said, I've seen some guys that had dogs that could climb up to 5.8. Jack Russel's are particularly adept at this. Usually they run up the slab stuff to a good perch, then rest and take the next sequence up. It's very cool to witness.

This video is more like a commercial - funny, entertaining, but not reality.

Sorry. : (

Assuming you are referring to the first video, although you can't see the fence at 00:30, there is apparently a leaf stuck in it. So the dog is NOT doing a chimney on air.

You can see the fence the dog stems on once he jumps down the other side.

OK, maybe you're right. Don't know why we can't see a fence there. But the moves all look good. Perhaps fear keeps the simians from doing this stuff. : )

Heard tell of a dog that had some pretty impressive rounds. He ran the 'hood, then caught the bus every day, went downtown, went to see a female pooch, then caught the bus back home. No bs. Saw it on a PBS show a few years back.

Our main limitations are perceptual.
