Bierstadt Conditions? (Summit this Sat. Apr 27)
Anyone summit Bierstadt recently???? Looking for any info on Guanella Pass road conditions from Georgetown. Summer or Winter TH access? Any info on trail conditions and snow pack on the summit, etc.
Looking to summit w/ my ol' lady (wife) this Saturday, April 27.
Thanks!

All I have to say is bring your axe and crampons to any epic July climb of Bierstadt.

Might try checking out the trailhead conditions page or the peak conditions page. Updates from last weekend for both, looks like winter road closures in effect, and a decent amount of snow (especially with the dump since then).

Word on the internets is that a couple groups will be up there tomorrow. I imagine some condition info will be available tomorrow night.

No new stashes of gear found. Access is still from winter closure TH on Guanella side. There is a superhighway access to about 12k in a form of snowshoe/skin track. Summit ski is in, but there is a rocky section for about 200 ft below before it opens up. Snowshoes are still needed, but probably less effective in the PM. Beware of the willows, they get soggy. Oh, pretty much no avy danger on the route.

Excellent, thanks for the update Nkan, headed up there tomorrow.

Seconded nkan's comments. I felt sorry for the folks wallowing waist deep through the willows this afternoon. Then I chuckled a bit. Then I felt bad for laughing.
Summit ski won't be in for long. Coverage towards Abyss Lake doesn't look good from the top, even if stability weren't a concern.

Am I missing an inside joke or something?
