Snow climb/ski on Thursday 04/04

Postby nkan02 » Tue Apr 02, 2013 3:24 pm

Weather is looking good and I am hoping to get out this week before the iffy weekend weather dwarfs the plans once again... Looking to climb/ski Lackawanna, Horseshoe (Boudoir), Sherman, Aetna, heck, even Columbia - SW gully. Any interest?

I've got to work Thursday, but will heading to Lakawana on Saturday if your plans change.
3 or 4 miles, can't be much further than that.

I'm wanting to do SW coulior on Columbia and would be available on Thursday. It would be a huge single day - does anyone know where the winter closure is right now?

ETA - can't do Saturday, but Sunday might work (although weather continues to look iffy)
BKS - I am really hoping something on a more mellower/closer side and head back to Denver earlier, although Columbia could work. Winter closure is not too bad (Harvard Lakes TH), it adds about a mile or two from the summer TH.

p.s. Looks like Indy pass area got 6-9 inches overnight. Thinking skiing Sherman or Horseshoe may fit the bill tomorrow.

Columbia is probably a little more than I want tomorrow, but I'd be up for any of the others. I'd be on skis.

I'm going to climb Byers Peak tomorrow - hiking, not skiing - if you're interested . . .
