Has anyone been up Mt Princeton Road lately? The last report was 12/02. Wondering if it is reasonable to think that we can get above 10k'

I was curious about this myself. The problem with the Mt Princeton road is that it is so narrow and there are very few places to turn around, let alone park. If you are only able to make it halfway up you might have to drive down backwards, which could be challenging with snow.

We had a lot of snow in the area Sat. night and again today. I've driven the road dozens of times and the big problem is there is really no where to park between the bottom and the radio tower area at 11K. Also, in between is an open spot with a big dropoff to the south. The road is off camber there and if slick, a vehicle could just slide off.

Speth and I got into a hairy situation on this road in late November when we crossed a patch of ice and lost control. Thankfully, we only slid a few feet and towards the slope of the mountain and gained control prior to hitting it. Took us an hour to chop up the ice and safely backtrack. Bottom line: Please be careful, especially given that fresh snow could be covering up a monster ice patch.

I talked to someone who hiked Tigger on Monday. He reports the road as a mixture of "icy, muddy, and hard-packed snow' conditions. He reported mostly muddy. however, he said on his descent, it was snowing pretty hard and much of the Mud was covering up.

His most telling statement: " I have a Jeep CJ and I would not drive the road."
