A "mix?"

Maybe a "mix" of balloons by range as an option?

Is there a way to save map options to coincide with display options? For instance when I turn the balloons off and leave the homepage and come back, the balloons are back. (I guess I have a thing against balloons.)
I also prefer the satellite image too, and would like to save that as my display option.

Thanks Bill.
I have to ask though, isn't it snowing in Breck now? And...you're in front of a computer...because.....????? ;)

It's windy and cold right now, so I'll be skiing tomorrow. I hope!

BTW, I think you have a thing against "markers." And, yes, I'll look into having most recent map options saved or add more options to Display Settings. Good idea.

No, I like Sharpies!!

I like "markers" but the balloons are way too busy on the map. I like the squiggly lines that run all over the place to be in charge.

Mix = x% of the time you get a panorama, and 1-x% of the time you get the map.

Another interesting idea might be zoomed-in maps or even route maps, of a particular peak. Maybe not worth the trouble though. Also it'd be awesome if on the panorama pictures they didn't always face the same direction, but started out looking in a random direction each time! Doesn't seem possible though since the flash software you have for it doesn't wrap.

Anyway - cool feature.

Ok, I get it now.

The Flash software does wrap for panos but I've turned it off for the 14er.com home page panos because it causes too much VR distortion when the screen is wide. You can see full wrapping on the 13ers.com home page panos because the page is set to a specific width. Regardless, they all wrap when viewed on the Panos page. I'm not sure I have much control of the pano starting point, but I'll look into it.

Using browser cookies, the home page map should now remember your check-box settings. Shazam

Just an idea - if nontrivial, I doubt it's worth much of your time.

Can it work for the satellite view too?

Hmm, I don't think so because the satellite view is built into the Google scripts. It's not something I can "trap" in the client browser. I'll look into it, though...

I made a few more changes above the homepage pano/map so it's easier to get to Display Settings and "view larger image."

What you'll see when viewing panos:

Or the Google Map:
