Christmas Day 14er

Postby I Man » Tue Dec 04, 2012 11:55 am

Hello! My office sucks and is making us work on Monday the 24th. This means I will have to return from the mountains and work a half day before heading out again. Many of my friends are busy with their families on the holiday.

Is anyone interested in driving somewhere on the night of the 24th and hiking a 14er on the 25th? I can drive, but don't have good clearance. I am hoping for a longer and tougher day since it is early season. PM me or respond. Thanks :-D

You'll rarely hear me say this, but yes, it does. Some ideas I have are:

Lindsey
Huron
Sunshine & Redcloud
Handies
Castle & Conundrum

Do it. You know you want to.

Something in the Sangre de Cristos would be fitting for this venture.

I wish I could join you, but I'll be doing a 19er on that day.

Anyway, I mention this only because I can't come on this one, but am always looking for partners to winter peaks, so drop me a PM sometime and I'll be happy to climb with you (or others).
I'm slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.

Lots of people find winter hiking partners without announcing to the forum that they are doing a 19er.

Looks like Handies is the leading contender given a half way decent forecast.

I'd definitely be interested in doing any of the 14ers you listed (except Huron) on the 25th, but I wouldn't be able to leave work here in Denver until 4:30pm on the 24th.
