Just a FYI: this is not just for 14ers members. This same outing has been posted on a large Utah-based outdoors-themed website as well. There is even someone on vacation in the US from Australia who saw the thread and is coming in an RV.

I do worry about the camping capacity of the area and hope it doesn't get over-taxed (Sanitation, etc if you know what I mean).

Excellent point. We're camping in a cow camp, but still we might have to split up camping. There are some areas farther north.

Many people dropped out. Let me know if I missed someone.

So far here's what I got for 14er members:

Going

Mountaingoat-G
Spiderzak
Upstate Hiker
mtndude3737 (3-4 total)

6-7 from 14ers, plus 2 including myself and Kessler.

Maybe (or I’m not sure)

Vallejoclmbr
-----------------------------------------------------------------

Eight additional people for the Utah site as well.

16-17 people total; bigger than expected. Even thought Granary/Motel 6 is a cow camp, we may have to split up the group. There are several smaller campsites well to the north.

Did I miss anyone on the list? If so, please say so.

Also, if you go, prepare to get wet.

Scott, I was maybe considering camping at the Alcatraz drop-in as a possibility. Good or bad idea ?

I've camped there a few times. It's not bad.

Pretty bummed but I have to cancel on this - some crap came up at work that is supposedly more important than mucking about in wet slots. ](*,)
I won't miss out next time. Have an awesome weekend everyone!

It's looking like the "big group" is a little smaller as several have dropped out either in the forum or PM's. It's probably easier that way; and there will be plenty of other weekends to do some more canyons.

Anyway, my own plan is to do the new canyon tomorrow (we'll figure out a good name after we do it) and either Buck, one of the forks of Bluejohn or Bull Pasture the next day.

Definately didn't have to worry about a big crowd.

I think only one person from 14ers.com showed up. It turned out to be a fairly small gathering, but a very managable size. Probably an ideal size for a gathering.

Anyway, it was a great weekend.

Some people did Red Spur on Friday.

Kessler, I and two others did Alcatraz Saturday while others did White Roost.

Yesterday, most of us (Kessler, and four others) did Bul Pasture Slot while a few others did Zero Gravity.

Definitely do another one of these in the future, it's something I'd like to try out, just wasn't available this weekend. Sounds like you had a good time!
