Fourth Annual 14ers Winter Welcomer!

Need a climbing partner? Trying to form a hiking group for an outing?

Should we cancel or change the date due to winds?

Poll ended at Sat Oct 27, 2012 8:04 pm

1. Let's not cancel. Winter and wind go go together. Still down for Saturday!

2. Yes, let's cancel. Gusts to 55 mph are not my idea of a welcomer. Besides, I'm not very experienced, and I'd like something mellow to start out.

3. I'd really like to go, but maybe conditions will be better next weekend. I'd be down for Nov 3 or 4.

I just started hiking 14ers this summer so I have no experience climbing in the snow. I have extensive experience with the snow thanks to the 10th Mtn division and would love to learn about winter climbing from those of you with experience. If anyone is driving through or from Colorado Springs, let me know and we can arrange carpooling.

Pretty sure the wife and I will be there to meet some of you all since we are new transplants to Colorado as of May...

Are there going to be cookies again this year? \:D/

Costumes?
I'll be damned if I feel like I will ever know anything, but if we don't keep moving on that last hill, we'll never know what's on the other side.

Sarcasm or not, it's not even funny to post something like this. Not at this time. Reported.

Yes.

Kinda like Quandry, got all the established routes except this one.

Last gathering a few of us did the West Ridge, good times.

Abe, you are still missing 4 or 5 mixed routes on the North Face. We can solve that though \:D/

Optional.
The primary purpose is educational and social.
So, yes, come in costume if you desire!

Hello! Will anybody be winter camping on Friday or Saturday night, and if so, where will you be so I can meet you? Wanna test out my winter sleep system. :)

I'm planning to hike in a very short distance from the TH and camp Friday night. I'll send a PM to everyone who's expressed interest once the date gets closer, probably next week.

Kessler and I are also interested in camping overnight. We have to test out his new winter sleeping bag.
I'm slow and fat. Unfortunately, those are my good qualities.
