Fourth Annual 14ers Winter Welcomer!

Need a climbing partner? Trying to form a hiking group for an outing?

Should we cancel or change the date due to winds?

Poll ended at Sat Oct 27, 2012 9:04 pm

1. Let's not cancel. Winter and wind go go together. Still down for Saturday!

2. Yes, let's cancel. Gusts to 55 mph are not my idea of a welcomer. Besides, I'm not very experienced, and I'd like something mellow to start out.

3. I'd really like to go, but maybe conditions will be better next weekend. I'd be down for Nov 3 or 4.

Should we try to do name tags?

It's been suggested in the past to download the avatar, print it out on an 8x11 sheet (or photo paper, or something smaller if desired) and mount it on cardboard and put it on the back of the pack.

I did this for the second annual and it worked pretty good (still have it; will probably wear it this time.)

Thoughts?

Absolutely! I think it is a very good idea. I don't know why but I always seem to forget names/nicknames, but not so much avatars. I guess the visual thing is always easier to remember. So, this would make it easier to recognize people.

I don't know. My avatar is pretty complicated . . . might not print off so well.

Possibly in, sounds like a fun time. It's on the calendar now. If I go, I'll be wearing a costume!
