Mt Rogers/Grayson Highlands

Post by dpage »

I'm headed to SW VA this weekend for a short visit with the family and one day of hiking and thought I should try to link the 8 points (3 ranked, 5 unranked) above 5000 ft. My normal hiking partner won't be traveling with me this weekend, so I thought I would see if anyone in the 14ers.com world who live around SW VA, TN/NC is interested in a long day starting at the Elk Garden TH near Damascus.

Darn It! I am going there in 2 weeks. I would meet you this weekend but I have a race that has been planned for 6 months. If you make it out here again let me know. The Highlands/ Mt. Rogers is awesome. Look for the ponies. If you are backpacking there are 2 or 3 shelter on the A.T. that are really close. I am in Charlotte, NC. Also, anyone else that makes it out here let me know.
