I take it that we are not at peak yet around Dallas Divide? Depending on weather forecast (wind and rain), these leaves should be good next weekend? Please let me know your thoughts.

Dallas Divide is pretty close. I was through there today but didn't get any pictures. Red Mountain Pass looks to have already peaked; good amount of trees there have shed already.

And to think, I considered taking the red bike. That would have been sooo gauche!

I drove to Grand Junction/Fruita yesterday and back to Durango today and this is my take on the colors from Ridgway to Durango:

Ridgway south to Ouray, just past peak
Ouray south to Red Mountain Pass, past peak with about half of the aspens starting to lose their leaves
Red Mountain pass south to Silverton, past peak with more than half the trees having lost their leaves and looking pretty bare
Silverton to Molas Pass, past peak
Molas Pass to Coal Bank Pass, past peak
Coal Bank Pass south to Purgatory, nearing peak
Purgatory south to Durango, about 25% changed

Here's a link to an article that appeared in the Durango Herald yesterday about this year's fall colors (not sure why t:

http://durangoherald.com/article/20120921/NEWS01/120929875/-1/News01/Don’t-get-leafed-behind--

This is how the Dallas Divide looked this afternoon, about 3 p.m., right off Hwy 62.

These are a few pics I took on kebler Pass, this past weekend. The colors looked great closer to Crested Butte, but still pretty green on the Western side of the pass. I suspect they will look even better this coming weekend!

Any updates from the Tetons on the fall colors / smoke situation? I am headed up there Sunday for some color action.

Here's a shot of mountain biking with my race team yesterday near Vail. It was a day full of "leafgasms".....

Drove to Maroon Bells on Saturday night and drove back home via Aspen/Independence Pass on Sunday. The colors are really really great. I arrived at Maroon Bells at 1:30am, slept in my Jeep for 3 hrs and was at the spot at 5:30am. There were about 50 photographers already standing tripod-to-tripod. I think this week will be peak all over the area.
