2012 14ers.com Gurlz Hike

Postby bergsteigen » 29 Aug 2012, 10:38

I've been getting a bunch of PM's, so it must be that time of year again! The annual wear as much pink on a mountain as possible time!

When: September 29/30 (Sat/Sun based on #1 availability, #2 weather)
Peak: Peak G

14ers, 13ers and any other fun peaks to be considered. Just reply if you are interested, and we'll get this show planned! As always, I'll edit the first post with polls and planning info. Be sure to go to my webpage to find out all the info. But use this forum topic to discuss carpooling and the like

Previous Years:
2009: Crestone Peak - Day 1 & Crestone Needle - Day 2
2010: La Plata Peak - Day 1 & Huron Peak (Plus Browns & 13,462) - Day 2
2011: Pearl Peak - Day 1 & Castle Peak - Day 2

Of course I'm interested ! Keep me in the loop and I'll keep that weekend open. Good fall colors hike, perhaps......

Perhaps we can come up with a good cause to donate to and collect some money. Some good ones that come to mind: CFI, SAR (in honor of Rob Jansen), 14ers.com......

I just looking for something to do that weekend! I've never been to one of the group meet ups. Sounds like fun.

YAY - I'm most likely available that weekend. Can't wait to hear the peak options.

I should be able to attend this year. Now, I just have to find some pink. :-D

Per usual, after about a week, when we have a bunch of responses, I'll start to get a list of peaks to select from (pm suggestions if anyone has strong preferences). Then we can have our secret poll & pm's to keep the guys guessing. That seems to be half the fun

How badly does your personal website visit-count spike each month during the Gurlzhike thread-life due to the guys looking for the secret link?
I place one request for it to be Holy Cross - for the best finisher photo of all time! If that peak does win votes, I might rent a chopper for the aerial shot*.

Might as well call this the "14ers.com G-Spot Hike" since most of the guys can't seem to find its location. :-"

Terry, correct me if I am wrong, but I was under the impression that you guessed the location correctly last year, just did not tell anybody. Of course, if this year, Otina goes down the 13er route, it would make the guessing game that much harder for you or anybody else. ;)
