turtles above treeline

Post by d_baker »

I hiked Pikes Peak last month, and saw a big ass turtle near Devils Playground.

Has anyone else seen turtles that high? Or any other odd animals above treeline?

Just curious.....

Missing from the Cheyenne Zoo since last year, says he was last seen in The Loft so he must have climbed Longs and is finally down to attempt Pikes. Going for record of slowest 14er finisher I guess :)

I dunno, but I don't think I'd want to see an ass turtle. :-s

Coincidentally (or maybe not...), the missing tortoise from the zoo is named Butti (Boo-tee).

Nice "frightened turtle" reference.
Save a place for me up in the high country.
