Missouri Lakes/Fancy Pass Trail head

Postby My-Therapy » Tue Aug 21, 2012 6:46 am

Good Morning,

I'm wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the road conditions to Missouri lakes/ Fancy Pass trail head. Specifically I'm wondering if a small passenger car can make it.

Thanks, J. Hart

Good Morning!

We made it up to the Missouri Lakes/Fancy Pass TH in a Honda Accord about a month ago with no problems at all. Enjoy!

Thanks Cloudust, I'm planning on driving a Civic up so I'm glad to hear the road is doable.

I havent been there this year but it was a pretty good road last time I was there in a subaru impreza. No problems unless you accidently end up on the Jeep Trail.

Hiked up to Fancy Lake on Saturday 6/21. Trail was covered in snow starting 2 miles in and continuous all the way to the lake. Lake was still frozen with avy debris still on top of the ice. The basin and trail up to Fancy pass was completely covered in snow with some rather large cornices overhanging parts of the trail. If you are looking for Summer conditions, I will give it another few weeks at least

Would you mind updating the Missouri Lakes TH Status? That's a popular place and it would most certainly help out others.

Thanks!
Only SNOW will end the madness
