Re: Dog Found: Mt. Bierstadt!
Is it possible she wasn't abandoned, but that her owner was injured or fell?
Anyway, hope you're able to quickly get a group together and bring her out. You folks are awesome!

I have dog sedatives that can be taken orally if anyone needs them. I am in the springs. I'd be up there in a minute if I wasn't working this weekend. I grew up with sheperds.

I am not familiar with this site and on a cell. I will not be hiking, but can transport sedatives. I am unable to contact Dow, if someone else could.

Probably better that the RP (Reporting party) be the one to contact sheriff's office who should connect to DOW. Clear Creek Sheriff's office is 303-679-2376

Before you guys are out the door on a search party, has ANYONE made contact with SAR, Sheriffs Office, DOW...anything? This absolutely needs to be done before anything else.

Serious question....why does that absolutely need to be done first?

As mentioned before, we dont know whether the owner of the dog is injured or worse. SAR needs to be the first ones in there if theres a missing person.

Re: Dog Found: Mt. Bierstadt!
Would there be anyone interested in going? Just spoke with the party who posted the original message. The calls had been made but nothing came of it. I've been out all day in the sun so I'll be slow, but if we can get the sedatives, the correct dosage, a methods to move her, i'm in. already dressed.
This is approx an 80 lb dog, friendly enough to allow the above poster to bandage her paws. Pretty lousy area, going to be difficult, steep with the dog
. Any input on an exit to the Evans rd.?

That is so sad and awful, wish I could help but I'm not a very experienced hiker yet. Hope you guys can get together and pull this off, I couldn't imagine having my dog stranded on a mountain.
