Would this be considered, dare I say it, "hardcore"?

Wow. Very well done and quite impressive.
For some perspective - I went 58-2 on 1st attempts at a new 14er summit getting through the Colorado 14ers. I am currently 6-3 in California. I guess my problem is I'm not linking all the 10 mile approaches. I got to start thinking bigger.

Wow, that's one hell of a feat, taking almost a day off the old time. Cali may only have fifteen 14ers, but when class 3 is the average route and you need to solo a good deal of low 5-5.7 it puts it in a whole new realm in my opinion.

And CA class 3 is more often class 4!

Re: New California 14er Record--62 hours!
Thanks, all! Unlike the CO 14er record (a la Cave Dog), the CA one was both logistically simple enough for me to handle, and short enough not to do serious damage to my body. It was also pretty fun (in some sense), with a wide variety of terrain and incredible scenery. It doesn't have all that much serious 5th class climbing, but there is lots of 3rd and 4th class, and acres of talus-hopping.
