Scouting routes

Post by dubsho3000 »

Do you ever scout routes before you attempt them? Im planning on doing some scouting in the gore range tomorrow - looking for quality of the rock, traverse obstacles and good camping. What do you look for when scouting? Or is scouting for mega wimps?

I ran into a guide on Pacific/Atlantic a couple of weeks ago. He was scouting a route for clients to see if it was within their comfort zone. So I guess the answer is, yes it's for wimps.
