I've been trying to find info on the Uneva Peak route. SummitPost is apparently down (I can't get on to the site). I've heard estimates of 6 miles to 12 miles (which does not seem right!). Every report I'm finding doesn't have mileage or the estimates are all over the place! Could someone who's been up Uneva please give me an idea of the mileage and how long it took to summit if you did. I know it's a popular backcountry ski so I'm hoping someone can give me some quick info.
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks,
Mel

Re: Uneva Peak
We hiked Uneva/Sneva together and I logged it as 7.5/3,200 for the pair from Vail Pass. We did it in February 2011 on snowshoes so I wouldn't imagine our times will be very helpful to you (not that I even tracked them) but it should go pretty quick when dry.
I've been had a couple of times on the SP mileage too. Just a head's up, Outpost's South Ridge route is more than 6 miles RT. 5 hours into our ascent last March we conceeded that it was more like 6 miles one-way.

Hi Floyd,
Thanks so much. That does help. I figured it was 6 to 7 miles, and then the REI site referred to 12 miles. Big difference!

Hi. I have 5.81 miles RT and 1,913' of gain from Vail Pass (for just Uneva).

Re: Uneva Peak
Hi Mel,
I also hiked both Uneva and Sneva in June 2010 from Vail Pass. Attached is a map with my tracks.
The red ascent track to Uneva was 2.8 miles with 1,950 feet of gain. The purple track for my trip over to Sneva was 1.9 miles with 400 feet of gain. My blue return track (which includes an ascent of unnanked/unlisted (but still worthwhile) point 12363) was 3.6 miles with 500 feet of gain. So, a total of 8.3 miles and 2,850 feet of gain.
Overall, it was a very enjoyable hike over easy terrain. There was some thick and wet bushwhacking through the trees, but not too bad. My roundtrip time (being a late 50's accountant in reasonably decrepit shape) was 5.5 hours, which included at least 20 minutes on each of the three summits.

Re: Uneva Peak
Thanks Paul and smoove! I really appreciate the feedback on here. I'm hoping to hike Uneva this weekend.
