From Superior:

Sadly this looks to be prime hiking country--the west ridge of Bear Peak and possibly even Shadow Canyon--not to mention the properties further west that must be in danger as well.

From my office it appears it may have already crossed over to the east side of Bear Peak and into Shadow Canyon. A bit hard to tell because of the thickness of the smoke. I hope no one was hiking up there.

I was at work and heard the nasty lightning strikes going on. Given the 100 degree weather the last few weeks it seemed like it was only a matter of time for something like this to happen... :(

I was in louisville this morning for a meeting and packed clothes for hiking-- I was thinking either green mtn (gregory canyon TH) or sanitas. pigged out at lunch so decided to hike later. good thing too. not looking good from here (28th and pearl) right now. going to head up sanitas in a few...

15 minutes ago they reported it at 6 acres.

1 minute ago KBCO reported it has blown up to 200-300 acres and Boulder west of Broadway from Table Mesa to Dartmouth is under pre-evac warning.

Wow :(

This really is the worst... My favorite after-work spots are back there! Pray to the rain gods now!

I live & work near Table Mesa/Broadway. Boulder Daily Camera has current info, burning NE - not Shadow Canyon area at the moment.

Does anyone know if the fire is actually burning in Boulder OSMP space? Is it burning on the backside of Green Mountain and/or Bear Peak?
