I really lucked out that day. Clouds can make an image, and in that case they did. Although Longs isn't too shabby to look at either.

That is a great reflection shot of those obscure peaks. I've climbed a ton in Colorado and don't think I've ever seen them before... Don't tell anyone where they are, or it may get really crowded in that area. HA HA!

Thanks, Chinook. The really odd thing is that I was there on Memorial Day just before sunrise, and I was the only person at the lake. That was unexpected. Being woken up in the middle of the night by a critter chewing on my car, however, was not. I knew I should have bought those moth balls.

- A mountain is not a checkbox to be ticked
- Alpinism and mountaineering are not restricted to 14,000 foot mountains
- Judgment and experience are the two most important pieces of gear you own
- Being honest to yourself and others about your abilities is a characteristic of experienced climbers
- Courage cannot be bought at REI or carried with you in your rucksack
