Summer Skiing Recommendations

Postby mliggett » Fri May 25, 2012 9:06 pm

I'm going to be moving out to Colorado next month from Ohio and am looking to try and take some turns when I get out there. I was just curious some of the best spots for this that require hiking, but nothing too intense since I only have moderate experience. I've heard about Andrews Glacier but any other recommendations would be great so I know where to plan for and can get some decent skiing in

Loveland Pass but since it was such a low snow year, I'm not sure how much will be left. Also, St Marys Glacier.

Northern Sawatch North Faces are holding a fair amount of snow. Check the trip reports to see current conditions.

Thanks for the help. Does it look like Andrews A
and some of these other spots will be holding snow that's skiable all summer?

Has anyone skied St Mary's recently? Is it all suncupped or is it "decent"?

I was up there on Sat. It's still pretty decent, though the suncups are starting.

Of course I took pics  I was finishing my goal to ski all 8 pairs of skis this season up there.

haha that's awesome!! Nice work skiing skis with two different lengths! \:D/

I skied it back in Sept '11, and by your pics, it looks like you did too. The suncups were horrendous. Just want to make sure that they aren't that bad now, right? :wft:
