Shadow Canyon

Postby JA_son27 » Fri May 11, 2012 6:21 pm

How technical would the climb up the Eastern Ridge of Shadow Canyon in Boulder be up to the summit of Bear Peak? Is this possible? Just seems like a more interesting way to get up there!

It's not technical at all. Just a steep trail.

Thanks! It looks a little more difficult from down in the canyon

I think you are referring to the main trail in the canyon, which is not the same as the east ridge. MountainHiker is right, there is a seasonal closure there.

To clarify, you are okay if you stay on the designated trails. Off trail is the closure area.

I was more or less just curious if the east ridge of the canyon is doable had there not been a raptor closure.
