AWESOME! Same here.

You're familiar with Squaretop Mountain in the Winds, aren't you? I'm sure everyone loves the well-known pic of the Squaretop viewed from the Green River Lakes to the northwest, which would definitely be a Class 5+ climb (???).

But what interests me is climbing it from the OPPOSITE direction. After looking at Google Earth & several topos of the area, it doesn't look all that difficult to make the trek further up the Green River & bagging Squaretop from the southeast. There is an incredible view of Gannett Peak from Squaretop's summit, & you can also see the Tetons off in the distance! \:D/

These would take longer than a week but are on my to-do list:

Sierra High Route

Wind River Crest Route (My own creation)

Wrangell St. Elias National Park, 10th largest protected area in the world, 13.2 million acres :D
We did not think of the great open plains, the beautiful rolling hills, and winding streams... as "wild". Only to the white man was nature a "wilderness".

I had to look it up for reference, but Wikipedia beat me to the chase and said it in plain language: "This is larger than nine states and is comparable in size to the Canadian province of Nova Scotia."

Sarcasm or not, it's not even funny to post something like this. Not at this time. Reported.

GNP is def a fave. Early GrinnelGlacier hike and the double of Ptamigan Tunnel/Iceburg Lake is a must with a robust dip in the lake... The Siyeh Bend/pass loop is stunning as is the Highline to The Loop hike early. Tetons, love the Cascade Canyon to Lake Solitude over the pass and down Paintbrush Canyon.

We also, would like to do the JMT someday. I get permits every year, and every year something comes up and we can't do it.

The Wrangells are more of an expedition than a backpacking trip. I doubt much could be done in a week there given the logistics and transport. But if one has the time and money, absolutely. However if I were on that boat I would rather just go back to the Brooks Range again, WOW. The Wind River Range, yummy. Only been there in the winter but I doubt many more folks are up there in the summer. Remote. If the post was meant specifically for CO, which seems logical given the site, the Mt. Zirkel Wilderness via the Colorado Trail is a nice one. Start at North Lake and end at Buff Pass. A little less than a week, but we caught a lot of trout and had some nice lake dips a few years ago.

think it would pretty cool to hike a stretch of the Colorado Trail for a week...matter of fact, one of these days I plan on taking all five weeks of my vacation at once and give a try at going from one end to the other over a span of about six weeks.
Seems like the times that I need a mountain the most are the times that I can not get to them.

I'm going to try a ~150 mile stretch this summer in a week (9 days including weekends). Still trying to figure out the best sections, but probably sections 20-28 (the end), 155 miles.

A couple of Wind River Range trips I would be interested in. A loop starting at Elkhart park in over Indian Pass, then the Alpine lakes area and back out over Angel Pass. A Cirque of Towers to Grave Lake over to East Fork Lakes then out. Of course a week at Glacier, Canyonlands(maze district) or Sequia/Kings Canyon would be pretty cool. The most likely to happen soon is a San Juan adventure targeting Arrow, Vestal, Trinities, Mt Silex and Storm King.
