No hurry.

A few more plot lines I'm following:

-Will SJP ever return from her self-imposed hiatus from 14ers due to her waging a secret campaign to change the name of the town of Crestone to Kit Carson Village, thus giving the Crestonians a taste of their own medicine?

-Will dozens be dismayed when they learn that Bill secretly runs 14erworld, summitpost, and owns the trademark to the word "fourteener"? He made a deal on a chairlift one day. Made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

-Is Rustic really READY FOR WINTER?

-Could the Jedi or 55 mountains be the first to beat Cavedog's record for summiting all the 14ers?

I can clear up one of those mysteries... I took a hiatus to write. My first book comes out on April 17th, and I have some book signings and presentations scheduled over the summer around Colorado.

I wrote a second book too, which I'll be self-publishing this summer.

And I'm working on a third book, to be published by FalconGuides in the spring of 2013.

The town of Crestone gets a pretty flattering write-up in all three of them :D

Thanks for the reminder, Susan. Just ordered my own copy, for you know I am a hot springer too. :D

So, one our 14ers.com characters may now be up for a daytime Emmy with this publication. Maybe? It's a book, I know. But....why not?!
However, if this character (SJP) gets nominated for an award, what about other characters? Let's be fair here....

The Jedi recently got FRONT PAGE of SP!!!! \:D/ 8) :D
With maybe only a little campaigning for it.
It's a TR worthy of it though, and it's an accomplishment that he should be proud of.
But I'm betting he had premature swimmers in his pants when he wrote it.

Then there's Prancesatmoonrise with his photo publication I believe in Climbing Magazine.

Who else?

Pretty sure that live4pc stars in multiple youtube rednecking vid's.

For me, I aim to do something outrageously stupid any day now, so hopefully I'll get some nominations for a trophy, an all out daytime trophy. The best kind.

(fine print: please don't take most of this post seriously.)

Not likely. I'm more apt to follow in the footsteps of the illustrious Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) with a bunch of nominations and no awards... *but* (a la Erica) I'll get to sleep with all the really good looking men, so I won't care! Kidding, of course :-)

I did have some help with the first book: cheeseburglar, ClimbStewart, DHatfield and MountainHiker all get a mention in the acknowledgments, and of course this site is listed in the References section.

And yes, I'm old enough to remember Luke and Laura. From what I recall, their relationship began with a rape. Ugh - I don't think that particular story line would fly these days.

I was wondering when someone would mention this...lol. Seems like he only comes out when the subject is killing things- expertly of course.

Congrats SJP. The book looks awesome.

I'll continue to lerk and read the ongoing sagas..

Oh, I forgot this storyline:

Jim Davies will have two close calls with lightning. The first he will shrug off as a freak anomaly and continue on patiently at 2PM. The second strike, which singes his banana, will be God making a point.

Jim may get it. We'll see in the next lightning thread...
