I guess saying what has already been said...I had Large microspikes on a pair of Nike running shoes, 10.5 and they stayed in place better than on my size 11.5 Keen Summit County boots. So far the spikes have been a great piece of equipment!!! Ran 8 miles total on Barr Trail this past Saturday and they did great. The only near mishap I had was rounding a switchback and seeing two ominous black floating cloaks in the shadows just below me. Caused me to not see the LARGE step and drop in unexpectedly.
Turned out to be Nuns...which is just freaky when you see them in a place not expected...

I've had several mishaps with micro spikes. One time had a chain hook on a point of a rock, for a sec, but just long enough to take a tumble.

Fortuately I have had no problems with micro spike (large) with my size 11 boot----but now I'm thinking I may have to switch or atleast pay closer attention to the fit.----this may cause being even slower (another excuse yip pee !!)

Definitely! And, coming down on a crampon can do some serious damage to the fleshy parts of our bodies.tx_mountain_medic wrote:If you think microspikes are bad, try crampons. I do still like my microspikes, though. Used them on Bear Peak via Fern Canyon the other day, and I don't think I'd have tried some of the icier spots without some type of traction aid on my feet.
