Lonnie Dupre's solo winter Denali attempt, Take 2

Post by tmathews »

Looks like Lonnie's attempting this again as I'm writing this. I hope he makes it this time!

I tried to find a good news outlet story to link, but honestly this blog entry on REI's website has the most information: http://findout.rei.com/blog_detail/?con ... 9835546145

Here's the thread from earlier this year on him: http://14ers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f= ... re#p340434" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Stewart Green's article on him from the first attempt: http://climbing.about.com/b/2011/01/28/ ... ttempt.htm

That is so rediculously awesome that he is even trying this again especially considering the temp and winds he may be facing the next few days http://www.mountain-forecast.com/peaks/ ... casts/6194" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; :shock:

Thanks for alerting us to Lonnie's amazing alpine adventure, Terry! May the mountain smile upon him and grant him safe passage to the summit and back.
